3 balls juggling improv at YouTube Space Mumbai!

Classic Guillaume Martinet move :p. Everybody who I met in Toulouse was working on that trick, haha

The two ball version is a nightmare. It's a very good idea to stretch before attempting! I've hit it/seen it hit a few times, as I've been teaching a workshop at fests called "How hard can a 1 or 2 ball trick be?"[1] that includes this one.
[1] - the answer, so far, is at least hard enough to send someone to the hospital for stitches.

Sounds like a fun workshop!

3 ball backcrosses tutorial
how do you think it could improve?
thanks :D
Daniel Simu - - Genitore #
How the tutorial could improve?
Well, for starters it could explain.. 3 ball backcrosses!
A fitting name for this tutorial would be is "Exercises could you do when learning any body throw"
Exactly the same tips would work for neck throws, under the leg, under the arm, claw catches, you name it!
What I would be much more interesting in when learning back crosses is how exactly you make the throw. Where do you focus, where do you place your hand, where do you release and where do you catch, and why. These kind of things.
In the very beginning of the video, you suggest that people should learn cascade first, and perhaps a few tricks. I think you can warn beginner jugglers even more that this is not an easy trick, if you've just learned a few basics (tennis, columns) and think you can pick up back crosses just as easily, you are going to be very very disappointed!
thanks for your feedback!
don't you think that watching the trick at slow motion and practicing the exercises are enough?
I just tried to organise it the way I learned...
totally agree with your last point, should have said that this is not totally begginer
Stephen Meschke - - Genitore #
You used slow motion well, and the twin effect at 1:30 is useful and could be utilized more with side angles earlier in the video.
I have watched several of your videos, and you have excellent videography. I don't like the look of this one though.
What is the camera and lens setup? The focal length is too short. This creates distortion. When your hand goes behind your back it looks small, and when your hand catches a ball away from your body (like at 0:43) it looks large.
Distortion is a big problem with action cameras, thankfully the solution is simple. In settings, a narrow field of view (FOV) can be selected.
thanks for the feedback
this is the first tutorial edited by Luan, a friend that is helping me in the channel
we had some small problems on that, with effects and color, so it doesn't look like the others, but we're improving.
we used the 11-16mm lens by Tokina, that's why you saw it different (in the tutorials before we used canon 18-135mm)
camera is the same
canon 60D
what's is this FOV? you do it on editing or on camera? never heard about it. :D
you live, you learn. :)
Stephen Meschke - - Genitore #
A wide FOV produces a fisheye effect, and a narrow (or zoom) FOV looks more like a DSLR with a 35mm lens. I don't have technical knowledge to explain why, but in practice I have found that videos from my action camera (a Garmin Virb) look much better if shot with a narrow FOV.

Thanks for making this! I could not be there, and your videos are the best substitutes :)
Next year however, I can finally go again after 3 years of missing out, haha! See you all in the Netherlands!
EJC 2015 website is now live with lots of information and there are still plenty of volunteering opportunities.
Pre-registration will start in April, so you have plenty of time to start saving up as the preliminary registration period (for maximum discount) only lasts a month.

Is there a download version?
4000 years of juggling vol 1 for sale :
https://www.ebay.fr/itm/4000-years-of-Juggling-Vol-1-Karl-Heinz-Ziethen-very-rare-/151555357718?ssPageName=ADME:L:LCA:FR:1123
One day to go & no bids yet? So has the bottom fallen out of the Karl Heinz Ziethen market or has everybody finally given up on manual bidding in favour of sniping tools?
Are you the seller Olivier? I can't help but think that an English language book would get much more attention on an English language version of Ebay.
Little Paul - - Genitore #
I'm not bidding because I've already got a copy :P
Perhaps I should add another checkbox to the editprofile form: "I own a copy of 4000 years of juggling"
Daniel Simu - - Genitore #
I don't have one, but there is a public library in Amsterdam that has a copy I can borrow, and there is a friend around the corner who owns both volumes... So no need for me to invest this kind of money ;)
Little Paul - - Genitore #
Yay! Well done, you've now got both volumes?
