Hello Everyone.

When I was a child in elementary school, my neighbor across the street was a gym teacher, and it just so happened that there was going to be a Guinness World Record attempt for the most people juggling simultaneously that he was involved in. I ended up getting recruited by him and taught to juggle, starting with scarfs, but then later moving on to balls, and I was able to juggle 3 balls. The event did happen, I went there, then went back to school in the afternoon, told my classmates about it and taught them how to juggle. This was back in 2006, the old days, when I was 11.

I am now practically 29, and I have decided to take up juggling once again. I have a set of bean bag balls coming in from Amazon today. I'm of course going to skip scarfs, and first learn 3 ball cascade, then build on top of that. One thing I'll definitely want to learn next is juggling 2 balls with a single arm.

So anyways, Hello.

Hi Kevin.
Nice story!
And welcome back to juggling and to here, The Edge.

Thank you.

The balls did come in today, it seems this will be harder to re-learn then I thought lol, it's not like riding a bike it seems, but I will persevere, and daily practice.

You'll remember how you did it formerly together with your neighbour and your classmates, I'm sure!
If you're willing to take advice or even coaching, we'll help you here - just tell what's happening, how it feels, where the balls fly and alike.

Little set of tips ahead:
aim!
to distinct points up l&r, or
to the height level that you want, or
to the other hand, or
through the crossing point in an angle, or
crossing the centerline,
circle with hands: throw inside up - catch outside down,
• do within a frontplane,
• try in rhythm rather than with effort.

Welcome (World Record Holder) Kevin.
To 7bw's tips, I'll just add
-remember to breathe!
Honestly, people forget, and so get really tense after a dozen or so catches, then it all gets messy. Have fun!

Hello Kevin,

did you break the World Record?

When I was very small, I took part in the World Record for most People Simultaneously Juggling at Edinburgh EJC (I even got a certificate). We had 1508 people juggling, but I remember that counting the number of people taking a tedious amount of time. I am impressed by your neighbours approach of teaching everyone from scratch which is much harder, we had a building full of 2000 jugglers in Edinburgh to find 1500 who would take part in a record attempt. (I think the record attempt was in order to break the record that had been set in America earlier that year, but I could be misremembering).

Did you break the record? Guinness is still listing our Edinburgh attempt as the record holder, but they can be lax at updating the more unusual records

Still it is a very good story on how you started juggling
